HOUSE OF ROOSEVELT ICHIBAN
With a prime location on the famous Shanghai Bund, the design of this Japanese restaurant sought to differentiate itself from its high priced neighbours by creating a casual and friendly atmosphere.
We looked at the Yurakucho area in Tokyo, which features small, cramped, and casual bars, to oppose its own high priced, super designed neighbour (the Ginza strip). We thus inserted three small wooden houses into the interior, to differentiate the space into several distinct types of dining program.
