The concept for this urban lifestyle shop involved the conjoining of three separate but interrelated programs: a space for Japanese flower artist Azuma Makoto, skateboard shop Avenue&Son, and a cafe.
Rather than create three separate partitioned spaces, our proposal joins all three into one open space. We used soft boundaries such as chain link fence, material change, and screened glass to allow maximum interfacing between the different spaces without sacrificing their independent identities.
